Debunking health myths: A diet with starches, e.g. potatoes and rice, doesn't cause diabetes

Codie-Joy Duncan,
That a starch-based diet causes diabetes is another health myth. It cures type-2-diabetes.

Here are some resources that I recommend:

Please study this about a plantbased diet and diabetes:
http://www.drmcdougall.com/med_hot_diabetes.html

The blood sugar level is dropping with a starch based diet, see e.g.:
http://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2008nl/jan/grains.htm
Some people eating a starch based diet and that are having type 1 diabetes: http://www.drmcdougall.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=36855&p=374878&hilit=type+1+diabetes#p374878

I found this post and the comments relating to diabetes type 1 and a vegan diet: http://jacknorrisrd.com/vegan-diet-for-type-1-diabetes/#comments

I also recommend this video about a starch-based diet:
http://www.drmcdougall.com/video/starch_solution.html

"The most important support for my conclusion that we are starch-eaters is based on an observation that you can easily validate for yourself: All large populations of trim, healthy people, throughout written human history, have obtained the bulk of their calories from starch. Examples of thriving people include, Japanese and Chinese in Asia eating sweet potatoes, buckwheat, and/or rice, Incas in South America eating potatoes, Mayans and Aztecs in Central America eating corn, and Egyptians in the Middle East eating wheat. "

Quorn-products contains eggs, and thus hurt and kill animals. They are also bad for your Health.

More about diabetes and a starch-based diet:
“Starchy foods, such as whole grains, beans, and vegetables, are healthful foods, and the body is designed to use the glucose that they hold. In type 2 diabetes, the body has lost some of this ability. But the answer is not to avoid starches, but to restore the body's ability to use them. After all, cultures whose diets are traditionally high in carbohydrate--Japan, China, Latin America, etc.--have had very low diabetes rates until meat, cheese, and other fatty foods displace their healthy carbohydrate-rich diets; only then does diabetes becomes more common.”

Historical diet: Mayan, Aztecs and other populations ate a starchbased diet, not a 'paleo diet'

DR. JOHN MCDOUGALL: Yes. The diet that I recommend is the diet that most people that have ever walked this earth have consumed. It's the diet of all successful populations throughout all of recordable history. There are no exceptions. And unfortunately science or historians or the general population has a hard time recalling history. If they did for a moment they'd figure out what the human diet really is. In recordable history - I'm talking about times where we really have adequate information about how people ate, and that dates back to 13,000 years ago, maybe 24,000 years ago. We really have good records from camp sites and writings and all kinds of things as to what people ate. And if you just stop for a minute you realize that people are starch eaters. All successful populations of people have lived on starch. For example, the Mayans and the Aztecs. They were known as ‘People of the Corn'. So was the American Indian, native American. They lived on corn and squash and beans. That was their diet. As a matter of fact there's a new dollar out called the "Three Sisters" which represents those crops. If you think about Asians for at least 5,000 years their primary calorie intake has been rice. But it's been other things. It's been sojourn and buckwheat and sweet potatoes, but rice is classically the diet of most Asian populations. In the Middle East, five, eight, 10,000 years ago it was millet and wheat. If you look at South America and you look at the people of the Andes. They live on potatoes, still do today, potato based diets. And there are populations that lived on sweet potatoes like those in New Guinea and those in the Caribbean. So wherever you look the primary source of calories for human beings has been starch and when they've consumed those calories, they've had no type 1 or type 2 diabetes. They've had no multiple sclerosis, heart disease as far as we know. Well we have examples of these people living on starch based diets up until recently, and in fact there are a few isolated populations that haven't been touched by the American diet and we can still see that they don't have type 2 diabetes. They don't have coronary artery disease. They don't have multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.

Feminism did not cause the fall and destruction of Rome

Some claim that feminism destroyed Rome.
Hello to everyone!
I don't understand how feminism would have destroyed any society. Feminism in its core true form is advocating for equal rights for all individuals, including men and women. True feminism would advocate the nurturing, faithful and caring role both for males and females, and as such it is reinforcing family relations and is not splitting families. Feminism can't be blamed just because that some people are abusing the concept of 'feminism', and are acting in ways contradictory to true feminism.

I think the Roman society never was 'civilized' in the sense that it advocated oppression against animals, females, people who were kept as slaves, minority groups within the society and other people groups. The society was based on violence and oppression to a big extent, and the violence and oppression that it sowed, it eventually also reaped, which became its destruction.
I believe that the domestication, slavery, abuse, violence and killing of animals is the core problem of our society. This has resulted in human slavery, oppression against women, and other forms of oppression that is rampant in our society. We need to extend our love and compassion to everyone. Everyone wants to live. If we hurt another being, we hurt ourselves. In order to kill someone, we have to violate this individual's love and wants, we have to crush hopes, destroy a family and friend relationships; We have to sacrifice part of our inner love and compassion; we have to say to ourselves that 'I don't care' in order to take someone's purpose and life. And this has destroyed us, destroyed our society. The reason why people inflict violence and suffering upon others is the lack of empathy and love to others. If we instead would reinforce love and empathy at each meal by living a vegan lifestyle, instead of destroying parts of our love and empathy at each meal by hurting and killing someone for 'convenience' or taste, we would surely attain world peace. As long as we sow violence and wars by our eating choices, our society and culture will be absorbed in violence and wars. By stealing the purpose of nonhuman and human animals, we lose our own purpose. By hurting others, we hurt ourselves.

We should stop hurting our family. We should treat everyone with love, compassion and nonviolence, i.e. go vegan (i.e. stop using, exploiting, enslaving, hurting, killing and eating animals).
We already do believe in this, we already to believe it is unethical to inflict unnecessary suffering and death upon other animals [More reasoning in this article: http://www.abolitionistapproach.com/what-michael-vick-taught-us/#.UZfcIMp5eWI ].
I highly recommend World Peace Diet by Will Tuttle, www.worldpeacediet.org
It is a very transformative book. I became vegan this autumn and this book has helped me alot. Also the website www.vegankit.com contains many good resources.
