No difference between eggs from "free-range" hens and hens that are caged - they all suffer and die

"If you are opposed to slavery, you don't own slaves. If you are opposed to animal slavery, you don't participate in animal exploitation. Got it? No rocket science here. Nothing short of veganism makes *any* sense.

And if you oppose animal slavery, you don't support efforts to partner with industry to make that slavery more "humane." First of all, in case you haven't noticed, those welfare reform efforts amount to a very small hill of very small beans. For all of these welfare campaigns, animals are still being tortured and if you don't realize that, you are dreaming. Second, these welfare reform campaigns just reinforce the notion that we can exploit "compassionately," which perpetuates continue animal use."
