Even Bokhan reads alemah ("maiden"), not betulah ("virgin")

Hellenized Xn "Gospel of St. Matthew" called "Mary" a "virgin" simply because that was the Church doctrine and the Church redacted it to read as necessary. However, the Hebrew Matityahu spoken of by Eusebius has come down to us in Hebrew, not Greek, the most complete extant text being EB (the Even Bokhan; Stone of Test-proving, i.e., Touchstone; vide "The Gospel of Matthew according to a Primitive Hebrew Text" by Prof. George Howard).

EB reads alemah, not betulah. Accordingly, NHM (The Netzarim Reconstruction of Hebrew Matityahu) translates alemah to English "maiden."
